Last weekend, I took a quick trip to Raleigh, NC, to visit friends and to participate in the race. Saturday morning, it was freezing cold but we put on our running clothes, pinned on our racing bibs, and laced up our tennis shoes and headed to the bell tower (where we met up with 8,000 of our closest friends). Oh and we put on our team hats that my friend KCox designed...
For y'all who don't know, the Krispy Kreme Challenge is a 5 mile race that raises money for the UNC Children's hospital. Basically, you run 2.5 miles, eat a dozen (or as many as you can) donuts, and then race 2.5 miles back. This year, the race raised $177,000 for the hospital.
In my case, I ate 3 donuts and ran almost 4 miles of the race. Considering I hadn't run in over 6 months, I was pretty happy with completing the challenge in 1 hour and 13 minutes.
